Hello, I am Jane Guinn. I’m 58 years old and a mother of 3 beautiful daughters. They all have children of their own and another beautiful boy on his way.
I have always taken a working role in my marriage to help support my family and by that I mean working odd hours around the clock to support my husband’s hours during the day.
I worked the majority of my hours in the middle of the night so that I could then take care of the needs of my family during the day. I worked 360 days per year from Midnight until 7am. I threw over 600 papers every night. Wow, talk about crazy.
To many of us, Leiomyosarcoma is a word that is made up from a dream. This is exactly how I felt when the GYN blurted it out the morning after the surgery. Then, it became a nightmare!
Please do not let any part of your medical history become a nightmare. Be proactive by getting your “Pap Smears” and any other Cancer screenings that they can give you.
Remember, you do not have to have a certain Cancer in your family genetic tree to have this demon disease. I had never heard of Leiomyosarcoma before. It does not run in my family and the only way to detect it is through a CT Scan and Pathology Test for all Cancers.
Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is a Rare form of Cancer which affects about 4 out of every 100,000 cancer victims.
It spreads through the blood stream and can affect the lungs, liver, blood vessels, or any other soft tissue in the body. Because of its rarity, few doctors know how to treat it and it attracts little research.
Presently there is no cure, only remission, if it can be attained, and LMS can reappear anywhere at anytime.
My dream is really quite simple:
Grandma Jane’s Home = Grandma Jane’s Dream.
Slay the Dragon called Leiomyosarcoma!
